Blo Blow Dry Bar

I have been going to Blo Amsterdam for years and I have no intention of ever going anywhere else. Genesis is one of the best hair stylists I have ever had (and I’ve had a lot as someone who gets their hair done weekly). Not only does she manage to tame my very thick, coarse, natural hair into a sleek straight style but she also listens and has built a deep trust. Genesis is truly talented and I’m so glad that I found her. Call Blo and ask for her, you will be thankful you did!

I had overnight pin curls done here and loved them! It was a first for me. I explained to the stylist that afternoon that I would be flying out in the evening to attend a morning wedding and needed a style that would last. Originally, I was planning on just getting a normal blowout and meeting my head wrapped in a scarf, but the stylist recommended pin curls. So I may have looked a little silly at the airport, but it was all with it. I'm glad I tried something new! The curls lasted three days and nights, at which point I just wanted to wash my hair. I believe they could've gone longer. I did sleep with a scarf every night to make them last.

This place has always been hit or miss. It’s a convenient location so I’ve given it far more chances than it deserves, but now I’m done. Worst blowout ever. Only thing worse than the blowout is the attitude in this salon. They have an attitude of disdain for the customer. When they ask how your blowout was if your answer is negative be prepared to be treated as if you’re the problem, not the untrained amateurs working there. Terrible salon. Wonder if the owner knows there are reasons they’re not busier.

I hope this location is embarrassed. Every customer was turned away from their mirrors until the very end and it’s clear why. Spent almost an hour putting beautiful curls throughout my moms hair, only in the last 15 minute to pull the sides of the hair up into I don’t know what and hide what she spent the entire time doing. I will have to say the staff was and friendly but I didn’t go there for dinner, we went to have my moms hair done and it was nothing other than disappointing. Are these girls licensed stylists????

Emma and staff went out of their way to make the perfect prom hairstyle. The blow out was fantastic! We will definitely be back.
